1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on a computer, phone or other device when a website is visited. Similar technologies can also store or access information on a device.

2. What this website uses

Current position: this website does not intentionally use analytics, advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies. The enquiry form sends the information you provide directly to Wheelers Automotive by email and does not place it in a website customer database.

Our web host or security provider may use strictly necessary technology to deliver the site, balance traffic, prevent abuse or maintain security. The private blog editor uses a strictly necessary session cookie after the site owner signs in; it is not used for public visitor tracking.

Blog like and share feature

If you choose to like or share an article, the website creates a random browser identifier called wheelers_blog_visitor. It contains no name, email address or advertising identifier. It is used only to remember your like and help limit repeated activity from artificially increasing the public totals. It expires after one year. The cookie is created only after you actively use one of these controls.

Current cookie categories

  • Strictly necessary: may be used by the hosting platform for security and reliable delivery, and by the private blog editor to maintain its signed-in session.
  • Functional: the anonymous blog reaction identifier is created when you ask the site to record a like or share.
  • Analytics: not intentionally used.
  • Advertising or profiling: not used.

3. Third-party services

The site loads font files from Google Fonts. When these files are requested, the visitor’s browser may send technical information such as an IP address and browser details to Google. Wheelers Automotive does not use this connection to identify or track visitors. Google’s handling of information is governed by its own privacy information.

If we later add analytics, embedded maps, videos, online payments, social-media widgets or other tools that use non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and obtain consent before those cookies are set where required.

4. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary technology may affect how a website works. Blocking or deleting the blog reaction identifier may prevent the site remembering whether you have already liked an article.

The public blog identifier is not created merely by viewing the website. It is created only when you request the like or share function. If other non-essential cookies are introduced later, we will update this policy and introduce appropriate consent controls where required.

5. Changes and contact

We review this policy when the website or its suppliers change. Questions can be sent to info@wheelersautomotive.uk or raised by calling 07584 100680.
